What is the " New I.M.A.G.E." Project?
The word New I.M.A.G.E. is a acronym for New Information, Media, Arts, Graphics and Entertainment. It is a project designed to redefine what is "cool" and teach Youth and Adults that the true path to long term success is through Education and the Proper Application of Knowledge.
We are accomplishing our goals by publishing articles, making films, music, art, graphics and hosting community events that promote positive images that are worthy of our attention. We are founding members of the Black Media Coalition and working together on programming that edifies our Community.

Smart Is The New Gangsta
American pop culture seems to have a history of glamorizing it's villains and making hero's out of criminals. Whether historical figures like Billy the Kid, Jesse James and Bob Dillinger or fictional characters like Tony Montana, Vito Corleone or "Ghost". America seems to have a fondness and fascination with these and other "Gangsters."
This fascination seems to be rooted in stories that tell of a "gangsters" working their way up through enterprise and daring, until their organization collapses while they are at the peak of their powers.
The gangster is typically articulate, although at times lonely and depressed, his worldly wisdom and defiance of social norms has a strong appeal, particularly to adolescents. Because of this appeal, oft -times these adolescents attempt to live out the lives and lifestyles of these fictional characters as portrayed in the movies and music and end up meeting similar fates.
Though the gangster, historically and in each film, faces a violent downfall which is designed to remind the viewers of the consequences of crime, audiences are often able to identify with the charismatic anti-hero. Those suffering from similar Socio- Economic conditions are often able to relate to the "gangster" character who works hard to earn his place and success in the world, only to have it all taken away from him.
Therefore in an attempt to redefine what is "cool" and show the true and lasting path to freedom and self reliance is accomplished through education and the proper application of knowledge, we are asking you to help spread the word and support our movement to let Youth, Young Adults and those who are referred to as "OG's" (Original Gangsters) know that being, "Smart is the New Gangsta."
Please support the Movement by making a donation to the Community Development And Training Center, Inc and / or purchasing a high quality T-Shirt for only $14.99. Your donation will be used to help promote our ongoing New I.M.A.G.E. initiative.
